1. Delegate microphone setup responsibilities 1. Determine number of cables needed 2. Determine types of clips and shock mounts needed (small, medium, large, shock mount, custom). See the case for direction, if possible. 3. Determine if pop-filters are needed 2. Move microphone (cases) to correct location 1. If there is a blue piece of tape on the microphone case, do not use. It is out of service. 2. Check that the microphone case is closed and move it with care, using both hands to handle. 3. Set up mic stand, aligning front leg in the direction that the microphone will be, with the two back legs providing support 1. Attach sand bags if microphone is heavy and/or if you want extra support 4. Secure mic clips on stands. 5. Connect the cabling to the wall panel, making sure that phantom power is off before making any connections. 6. Wrap microphone cable around the mic stand to create extra support 7. Dress excess cable underneath the microphone stand. 8. Attach microphones to mic clips, connecting microphone into cable. If using a ribbon microphone, make sure to keep microphone cover on while moving it around to prevent damage to the ribbon. 9. Check that cables are correctly wrapped to reduce tripping hazards, and add gaff tape or cable covers on the floor if necessary. 10. Notify the control room upon completion of the microphone setup. 11. Be ready to make mic adjustments as requested by the control room, with the ability to listen to mic positioning via hearback. ## Closing Job 1. Tear down and return microphones to the mic locker. 2. Wrap mic cables.
