# What is a send? A send is a bus routed to a destination. It is commonly used to direct audio to a secondary destination for purposes like parallel processing or monitor mixes. However, it can be routed serially as well, as in the case of audio effect sends and bus sends to sub groups. ## Channel Insert Sends This process is an in-line operation in which the audio is routed back without involving parallel processing except for the fact that the audio still goes elsewhere. ![[05.
