An extension of the Screenshots workflow includes capturing screen recordings, which I often use for educational purposes. A handy shortcut is **Command + Shift + 5**, opening options at the bottom of the screen to select the capture area. I typically use the crosshairs to set the recording area manually.
# Shortcut to Start Recording
This shortcut is very useful as it lets you begin screen recording immediately. By pressing Control + Command + Enter, you can start capturing your screen movie.
# Shortcut to End Recording
You can efficiently end your video recordings using a shortcut. I find these shortcuts helpful as they eliminate the need to trim or extend videos later. While you can manually start and stop by clicking a button, this often leads to extra footage that needs editing for a more concise result. The shortcut to stop recording is Control + Command + Escape.
