Setup Sheet - Monitoring Routing
Monitor Inputs on Patchbay
The DAW Outputs are normalled to automatically connect to their corresponding Monitor Input patch points on the patchbay.
Monitor Inputs on Console
These patchbay connections are provided for convenience, as they ultimately route to the monitor inputs on the back of the console, which use DB25 connectors.
Line Level Preamplifier Circuit
By default, the monitor input patch point feeds the LINE level preamplifier circuit on the console. Refer to the reading on one of the channel TFT displays below to see how this process works. Pressing the LINE button on the central routing panel activates the line amplifier circuit and the selected patch point will feed this line amplifier circuit.
Channel Strip
The signal then has the option to pass through the channel strip again; however, in the case shown here, the channel strip is inactive.
Mix A
The signal then routes to Mix A, the main mix bus on the console, where it will ultimately be summed with other channels.
Speakers
The signal then travels to the main speakers. It started at a microphone, made its way to a computer for recording, and finally returned to be heard through the speakers. What a journey!
