Mixing - Module Introduction

Introduction

This module covers the art and methodology of mixing audio. Using the BEDA framework (Balance, Equalization, Dynamics, Ambience), you will develop a structured approach to building a mix from the ground up. You will also study panning techniques, session organization, and practice with real multitrack sessions.

Objectives

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Apply the BEDA (Balance, Equalization, Dynamics, Ambience) framework to a mix
  • Organize a mixing session for efficient workflow
  • Understand chronological concerns and decision-making in the mixing process
  • Analyze and apply panning techniques including LCR panning
  • Practice mixing with reference material using Cambridge Mixes
